What’s in store for Acacia next?
We are heading to Miami for Miami Swim Week to show for our very first time at Salon Allure. We are very excited about this. 2012 has some beautiful prints and colors and we’ve added cover-ups in amazing fabrics that we can’t wait for everyone to see– simple and classic.
What’s your current inspiration for the new collection?
The collection name for 2012 is Belle Nomad, which translates to “beautiful traveler.” The variety of prints represent exotic or unconventional places and styles in the world.
Any words of encouragement for those who are a little nervous about wearing the smaller butt cut?
Girls, if only everyone knew how much better the smaller cuts will make your bum look, bangin’ body or not! When girls throw on bikinis with all that extra fabric, the shape and definition of your butt just gets lost in all of it, making your butt look really blah. The secret is to already be confidant with who you are and your body. Know that you are beautiful and dont be afraid to show a little skin.
Any tips for staying in shape?
Be active– work your booty and don’t be lazy! What you put in your body will reflect onto what your body looks like, so it’s so important to eat healthy. I love to do yoga and I have a favorite class at my gym on Maui that I attend when I’m home. I also run to waterfalls and surf. And I’m obsessed with fresh coconut water!
Where’s your favorite beach?
Ho’okipa on the North Shore of Maui is my favorite as it’s my home.
What’s your favorite summer song?
Ahh, thats hard. There are so many and it depends on what mood I’m in!
Angus And Julia Stone – “The Devil’s Tears”
The XX- “Islands”
Lykke Li- “Time Flies”
We Are The People- “Empire of the Sun”
What do you love most about being a bathing suit designer?
It’s my passion and I feel very fortunate that I get to travel to beautiful, amazing Bali, and that I call it my second home. I also love when girls stumble upon Acacia and get so excited that they just found that bikini they could never find. Most of all, that I get to have one of my best friends, Lyndie, as my partner.
