born and raised in l.a. tala michelle will pretty much always be a socal girl. she divides her time between helping underprivileged kids and covering the latest bathing trends around the world. if she can get away from work, she likes to travel…especially to spots where she can wear bikinis: nice, corfu, capri, costa rica, hawaii. she likes mermaids, fairies, banjos, beads, pirates, butterflies, fireflies, gardens, turquoise, hummingbirds, mint, coral, cowboy boots, blue jeans, beach towels, yogurt (with everything), sunsets, violins, all her peeps…and, obviously, bikinis!

How and why did you start Bathing News? What was your inspiration? I’m obsessed with swimwear (i’m thinking of framing my knit kini i’ve saved from when i was 2 years old). Swimwear inspires me. The colors, shapes…and representing for me the free spirit, happiness, traveling, summer days with family and friends, watermelons, mermaids, sprinkles, and celebrating the strength of women. Bathing News is kind of a vision bored for me and hope to share the spirit of creative beauty…kind of like sprinkling sparkles around.

Do you have a favorite style?I truly love sooo many styles. If I haaaaave to pic, I like the underwire bandeau top (brigitte bardot style) and a tiny but cut.

Which is your favorite kini from our La Cantik Boheme collection? The macy bottom, the missy (snake), fringe ties on the signature, the coco, and well the riley-cantik…see, i can’t do favorites. too hard for me.

Small coverage bottoms or more coverage? small.

Places and people that inspire you? People…my brother. Kids inspire me too, their free and curious nature. Places…yosemite, islands, candy shops, places with tons of flowers…

Where has been favorite travel destination? the island of corfu. very magical for me. machu picchu was incredible too.

Most recent travels? last month was hawaii and new york.

Future travels? maybe colombia (new family and some good swim there i’m hearing).

What do you dream about, what are you working towards? Literally…my dreams have a lot of water and water slides in it. it’s kind of fun. I’m dreaming of continuing to helping kids in need and as for Bathing News, continuing to spread the word on this beautiful art of the bikini!

What brings you happiness? family, playing guitar, swimming under waterfalls, seeing other people smile, spending time with friends…my museum of bikinis of course!
